Summer 2022

Returning to Summer Stock Austin (Impact Arts) for her second year, Rachel was cast as an ensemble dancer in the regional premiere of the new musical, Alice’s Wonderland. With book, music and lyrics by J. Quinton Johnson and Julia Riew, this performance provided the incredible experience of working closely with the director and co-writer of this musical. She is thankful to bring his vision to the stage as it almost did not happen. This is the reason to never give up on dreams.

Summer 2022

Rachel made her film debut when she was cast as an ensemble dancer in Summer Stock Austin’s original movie musical, How to Musical Theatre, written and created by the Emmy award-winning duo of Allen Robertson and Damon Brown. In partnership with Pease Park Conservatory, this film premiered at Pease Park and allowed her to be part of a community event/fundraiser for Impact Arts. This organization will always hold a dear place in her heart as they make theatre and education accessible to all.

Spring 2022

Spring brought opportunities to perform in two school productions including Dance Repertory Theatre’s Pivot and Evolution: A Collaborative Dance Concert. In Pivot, she was cast as an ensemble dancer under the direction of Co-Artisitic Director and Department Head, Charles O. Anderson. His piece, Mutants and Madmen, was his final main stage production at UT Austin, and she was grateful to have been a part of his piece. In contrast, Rachel was cast in student choreographers’, Anna Valdman and Evan Beek, first piece for the UT stage for Evolution: A Collaborative Dance Concert. This was a great opportunity to bring their vision to the stage.

Fall 2021

The firsts continued as Rachel performed in her first main stage show at The University of Texas at Austin as part of the Dance Repertory Theatre. Rachel was cast as a featured dancer in a contemporary piece co-choreographed by students, Cellise Brown and Hanna Bailey. She was thrilled to be performing again with her fellow students.

Summer 2021

This was a summer of many firsts! It was the first live shows (with audiences!) post pandemic, first time Rachel performed with Summer Stock Austin and her first musical performance. Being cast as a Truman cheerleader and Jackson Crew member provided an exciting, new experience that strengthened her love for theatre. It was a joy to work with a cast so eager to perform and provided an amazing way to return to the stage.
